Safety and Security
FRIENDS AND FAMILY ACCESS: We understand that your friends and families may want to check in on your pets while you are gone but we must know the names of those friends and family and the dates and times that they are expected. If we arrive at your home and there is an unexpected person in your home, we will leave the premises and report our findings to the local authorities. If we are at your home and someone unexpectedly arrives, we will not answer the door or acknowledge the person. If we are approached by someone while on or near your premises, we will tell the person to come back another time.
Additionally, Best-In-Class Pet Sitting is not responsible for any damages incurred to or in your home or to your pet during any time period that anyone other than Best-In-Class Pet Sitting has access to your home.
UNSECURED PETS: Cats and dogs left out in the yard or with access to a doggy door are considered free-roaming. In the event of illness, injury, loss, or death, Best-In-Class Pet Sitting will not be held liable for these free-roaming pets. It is strongly advised that all pets wear an ID tag with a contact number and that they remain inside your home or confined for their own safety and welfare in your absence. If your pet has a security microchip – please that information when creating your client profile or during the Meet and Greet meeting.
SECURED AREAS: It is the pet owner's sole responsibility to pet-proof any areas of the home and/or property to which the pet has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors, and other devices meant to keep the pet inside or away from any ‘forbidden' areas. The pet-sitter does not assume and has no liability for any injuries the pet may sustain while in its own home.
SAFE ACCESS: It is the pet owner's responsibility to provide safe access to their home – shoveling their sidewalks, steps, and porch. If the client is out of town during the winter months, we ask the Client to have a snow removal plan in place. Otherwise, the sitter will attempt to access the home and contract services to clear walkways if necessary. The fee for this service will be added to the client's final invoice. If the weather creates unsafe driving conditions, the sitter will make the best effort to get to your home once it is deemed safe to do so. The sitter will communicate the expected time of arrival with the client.
FORCE MAJEURE: In no event shall the Sitter be responsible or liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations hereunder arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, without limitation, strikes, work stoppages, accidents, acts of war or terrorism, civil or military disturbances, nuclear or natural catastrophes or acts of God, and interruptions, loss or malfunctions of utilities, communications or computer (software and hardware) services; it being understood that the sitter shall use reasonable efforts which are consistent with accepted practices to resume performance as soon as practicable under the circumstances.

Emergency/Last-Minute Service Requests
LAST MINUTE SERVICE: Sometimes emergencies happen – our goal is to help you when you need it most, even at the last minute. However, do not assume that we have received your last minute request until you have received an invoice/confirmation via e-mail. Emergency service is only provided to existing clients who have keys and/or access codes on file. If we need to pick-up your key prior to service, we may require a minimum of 48 hours and will charge the key pick-up fee of $10.00

Key and Access Codes
KEYS: Managing keys can become complicated without a clear plan in place. You have some options to choose the best plan for you and the sitter to ensure access to your home as needed:
Option 1: You can purchase a key lockbox, secured in an easily accessible area outside your home, to store one house key. The sitter will keep a backup key in the office.
Key lockboxes can be secured to a doorknob, fence, or railing. Key lockboxes can be purchased online or through office supply stores. Prior to your first visit, you must give the sitter the code to your lockbox to access your house key. Upon leaving your home, the sitter will leave the key in the secured lockbox.
Option 2: Hidden Keys: Sitters will keep the keys in their custody during the course of the visit(s). The sitter will take great care to ensure the key is placed at the designated spot at the end of the visit. The location of the key will be documented by the sitter.
ELECTRONIC ACCESS DOOR CODES: If you have electronic door codes, please update your client profile with the access codes your sitter needs.
Please note: If BICPS is locked out of Client's home, Client gives authorization for a locksmith service to perform any entry services as deemed necessary for BICPS to access the home. Client further agrees to reimburse BICPS within 14 days for any expenses incurred due to BICPS being locked out due to Client error.

Climate Control Clause
BICPS reserves the right to adjust the thermostat, close/open windows (as long as it remains safe and secure), turn the air conditioner on/off or etc. in ALL of our client's homes if our sitters feel the climate is posing a health risk to your pet(s) in our care. Our staff will notify you if you are accessible.

Pet Photo Release
The Client agrees to allow BICPS to use pet photos on the BICPS website and social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram, and other marketing documents. These posts include only photos of the pets.
CONFIDENTIALITY: BICPS respects your privacy. BICPS will never post sensitive information about the client, the home, travel plans, or other personally identifiable information.
If Client does not consent to the use of pet photos for the website, social media, marketing, or any other public use, a written notice must be sent via email to BICPS.

Referral Program
REFERRAL PROGRAM: I am thrilled to offer incentives to my clients who refer other customers to BICPS! If you know someone looking to find a reliable and guilt-free way to care for their pets in their absence, send them to www.bestinclasspetsitting.com or ask them to email andrea@bestinclasspetsitting.com to see if I can help with their pet care needs.
If a referral becomes a client, the new client will receive one free visit for any service, and I would be happy to provide you with one free visit on a future request.
